All about us and our Wedding Photography style - hamish scott-brown wedding

Award Winning Travel,  Landscape,  &  Documentary Wedding Photography

about us

We live in the beautiful county of Warwickshire, on the boundary of Oxfordshire and Northamptonshire . We're lucky  to be so well placed, as this means we can easily access 3 counties ...and be near 3 airports !
Photography, along with travel and adventure is what brought us together.  We pride ourselves in what we do and what our clients see as a result of many years of training, experience and importantly 'the ability to get on well with people' , laugh, have fun and enjoy the day as much as you on your Special day.

My portfolio of photographic work spans over 30 years now and takes me around the world on wedding commissions, travel assignments, while also  leading photography tours and documentary workshops.

Several key aspects are important to us when working together.

As an artist to have a personal and distinctive style that is not only recognisable but also widely admired while working in an unobtrusive and professional manner. Our aim is to offer you images that capture the moment artistically as well as their ability to sit as stand- alone art in your home or in bespoke albums and high quality hand-finished products.

My background in photography is classically trained. I studied at Bournemouth Art School and left in the mid 80's to work, assist and 'cut my teeth' in studios across London. I think my work is mostly figurative in style, probably influenced by some of the photographers I worked with in that period but it has also been led by admiring and becoming a reflection of others I have seen in journals and while on courses.

In 2008 I returned to University taking my MA in Photography as it was clear that photography was a passion that wouldnt go away and the best way to feed a passion is study it more !

Working well with people is massively important to us, and we pride ourselves by working in a discreet and low-key way, non intrusive yet able to really make our clients feel at ease and at home. We appreciate that photographs are hugely important for your day but we also realise that they are not what the day is about, unless of course you want that ! We’ll cover the day, keep out of your way and ensure that your day is about family, friends, relatives and fun and not ‘death by photography’.

Gaining Fellowship qualifications ( FMPA and FBIPP) with two of the United Kingdom’s leading professional photography bodies, I'm also involved in the 'Royal Photographic Society' in Bath and in 2011 was awarded Associateship status (ARPS) of The RPS.

I regularly mentor UK based photographers gaining and further developing their professional qualifications. Last year I was invited to sit on the panel of the Guild of Photographers where I gained a Master Craftsman Qualification.  I'm quite humbled to be an Ambassador for one of the UK's leading Professional Photography Labs, LoxleyColour in Glasgow.

However awards alone are irrelevant if there is no passion ..and it is this passion, enthusiasm and ability to ‘work with people’ that continues to drive me in all aspects of the photography I do both here in the UK and abroad.

As well as my wedding work I am passionate about travel and documentary photography and I am the co-founder of Photographic Journeys.

Photographic Journeys offer and run specialist training workshops and overseas tours for photographers of all levels through to professionals.
